Saab 96 (1960 - 1980)
Almost unchanged from the original 1950 Saab 92, it was developed by aeronautical engineers with no interest in styling whatsoever. Tough, safe and (of course) aerodynamic, the 96 was one of the least cynical cars ever made. Originally fitted with a smelly two-stroke engine, the 96 got a German Ford V4 in 1967 that enabled the design to last until 1980. Thanks to the form-follows-function approach, it still looks good today.
