350 GT (1964 - 1967)
The car that started it all. Unlike all the other would-be Ferrari beaters of the 1960s and 1970s, Ferruccio Lamborghini knew he had to go one better than Ferrari - there was no point making yet another Ferrari imitation with an American V8 engine. To that end, the 350 GT had Lamborghini's own quad-cam V12 plus all-round independent suspension. Suddenly Ferrari, with twin-cam V12 engines and solid rear axles, had to chase the standard set by someone else.
