Ford Model T (1908 - 1927)

How could this not be on the list? "The car that put America on wheels" with over 15 million sold, the originator of mass-production and the creator of the Ford dynasty. Not bad for one product. Famously it was only available in black - but only because black paint dried faster than other colours, so allowing quicker manufacture. It was also madly profitable - dealers had to pay for cars before they were actually built.
