Ford F 150 (1948 - )
Ok it is a pick-up, but in the USA pick-ups are just another option for car buyers. Indeed they are often the default option: the F150 sells more than any other vehicle in the USA - more even than the almighty Toyota Camry (the best-selling car according to the European definition). Indeed without the F150 and its spin-offs, which account for over 750,000 sales per year, troubled Ford US would not have any difficulties as it would have ceased to exist.
