Benz (1885)
The model that started it all. Universally acknowledged as the world's first car, except (inevitably) by the French, who tried to disrupt the centenary celebrations by claiming they got there first. Karl Benz was probably spinning in his grave when Mercedes-Benz merged with Chrysler, but he will have clamed down since the divorce.
