Porsche 911 S 2.4 (1972 - 1974)
The last of the classic 911s before impact-absorbing bumpers, pollution controls and, less happily, galvanised rust-resistant bodyshells. The 911 S had fantastic responses, being lighter than subsequent models and having electro-mechanical fuel injection that gave instant throttle response (none of the modern worries about wasting fuel - it just squirted in a bucketful when you touched the accelerator). Prices have risen steadily over the last few years and do not appear to have stopped yet.
