To combine AMG performance with estate practicality, Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the new E63 4Matic+ Estate with its top end model producing 612bhp.

Fitted with a direct injection 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8, the E63 and E63 S come with the 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system, with the 'S' version coming with drift mode.

Also coming with the AMG Speedshift nine-speed sports transmission, the top speed of both is limited to 155mph, but can be unrestricted to allow a top speed of 180mph. The duo can get from 0-60mph in under 3.6 seconds.

The E63 4Matic+ also comes with AMG Dynamic Select, which means the driver can choose from Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual modes that alter the engine response, transmission speed and suspension feel. The S model comes with 'Race' mode, which puts all the parameters at their most aggressive level.

The performance estate is fitted with a high-end braking system, with a carbon ceramic option available, meaning better stopping power and a lower chance of brake fade on a circuit. As well as speed-sensitive steering for improved control at higher speeds and smaller steering angles at low speed, the E63 4Matic Estate is easy to control.

Inside, the models come with black nappa leather trim and front sports seats for a driver-orientated feel, while the dual-screen widescreen display is fitted as standard to the 'S' model. Also both models come with the Intelligent Drive system, which includes the Drive Pilot semi-automated driving features to assist the driver in most situations.

Also being launched with both models is the limited 'Edition 1' trim for the S version, which includes more premium features such as an IWC time piece and carbon fibre inlays and trim features.

Both the E63 and E63 S will be displayed at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017, and both will be on sale from April.
