Poverty-stricken petrolheads can rejoice because a new Ducati model has hit the market at the budget price of £25.
It is unlikely to carry anyone far however, and buyers must build it themselves, as the latest model is a Meccano replica of the Italian marque's iconic Monster.
The motorcycle manufacturer has signed a licensing agreement with Spin Master Corp, which produces the model construction sets, for the creation and distribution of a series of kits dedicated to the distinctive motorcycles.
The first in the range to be replicated, the miniature Monster 1200S is constructed of 290 parts and features coil-spring suspension, multi-piece wheels and real steering to give the builder an authentic impression of the powerful street bike.
The easy-to-build set is already available online, and in toy and hobby shops aimed at motorcycle fans aged from 10 upwards.
Alessandro Cicognani, Ducati licensing director, commented: "We are delighted to announce this new licensing agreement, which will allow us to develop Ducati motorcycles in the distinctive Meccano style. I'm sure that Ducati fans of any age will have a lot of fun playing with the Meccano Build and Play series."
"The Meccano Monster 1200 S model has the unmistakable design and distinguishing features that visibly communicates the sophistication, timeless quality and uniqueness of a Ducati."
