A boy was left hanging precariously off a bridge in Israel – some 13 metres above the ground.
Firefighters used two cranes to rescue the boy, who was left dangling after the truck crashed and slid onto its side on a road bridge at the Somech Junction. The bridge sits along Route 79 in northern Israel.
It was reported by Israeli media that the rescue was made even more difficult as the boy had become entangled in construction beams at the side of the bridge.
Shalom Levi, a Fire Department spokesman, told the Daily Mail: "We received a call about a road accident, a very complicated road accident in which a truck overturned on the road and ended up on a concrete beam with two people trapped inside.
"We managed to extract the father but the child was hanging between heaven and earth.
"There were many forces at the scene and two cranes were deployed, and after working in very stormy conditions and very strong rain, we managed to rescue the child and transfer him for treatment by the MDA [ambulance service]."
The boy was given medical treatment by paramedics at the scene after he was rescued.
