This year the Porsche 911 Turbo turns 40. To celebrate this milestone of continuous production, the German manufacturer has revealed a limited edition model of its flagship Turbo S, which will be sold exclusively in the UK.
Called the 911 Turbo S GB Edition, the new model is designed by Porsche Exclusive, the German carmaker's bespoke division, which normally looks after custom orders from the marque's more exacting customers.
Limited to just 40 examples, and priced from £150,237, the GB edition is essentially a regular Turbo S model that has been garnished with styling details both inside and out, with design cues that hark back to the original Turbo model from 1974.
As such, the GB Edition features a black finish to the upper rear spoiler and door handles, period-design alloy wheels and retro black Porsche script along the flanks. Three colours are available: GT Silver metallic, White and Guards Red.
Inside, there's little to justify the near £10,000 price premium over the normal Turbo S, aside from red stitching that contrasts with the black leather upholstery, door sills that are finished in carbon fibre and feature illuminated '911 Turbo S' lettering, and a Union Jack flag embossed in the centre console lid.
Customers will also get a GB Edition indoor car cover and a photo album detailing the car's construction process.
Unfortunately there have been no changes under the bonnet – though with a 552bhp 3.8-litre turbocharged flat-six slung out over the rear wheels, there was no real need for any tweaks over the standard Turbo S.
If you fancy one, you had better be quick – order books are open now.
