Sex on wheels: The new Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster
The roadster has the muscle to keep going all the way to 201mph, passing 62mph from a standstill in a brief 4.1 seconds. Set to arrive in showrooms later this year, the V12 Vantage S Roadster will provide a visceral driving experience with the noise from the sonorous 12-cylinder engine all the more enjoyable thanks to the electrically-folding fabric roof.
With plenty of race-derived technology under the skin, the Roadster should devour corners too. The car has adaptive dampers with "Normal", "Sport" and "Track" modes, allowing the driver to tailor the car to suit their driving style or the roads they're driving on. The Vantage S Roadster isn't just suited to flat out driving though. As its V12 engine pumps out a colossal amount of torque with 510Nm available from just 1,000rpm it should be equally at home cruising on the King's Road.
Buyers get the choice of bold exterior colours and bespoke features including a red tint or satin finish to the carbon fibre elements inside and out, and racy details like a full carbon fibre centre console. Despite the tech under the skin Aston Martin's Marek Reichman says the car "delivers that most precious of experiences – fun – in abundance!"
