The website NorthJersey.com reported that the crash happened at about 2am on Monday. The scene was a spot close to the George Washington Bridge, a double-deck structure that spans the Hudson River, connecting Manhattan in New York to Bergen County, New Jersey.

CBS New York later reported that the driver had been tracked down and summonsed to appear in court.

Deankarte E. Ditchfield-Agboh, 33, of Palisades Park, New Jersey has been accused of abandoning his car and leaving the scene of an accident, according to reports.
