Motorist arrested for attempted murder following 'road rage' stabbing
A motorist in his fifties has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an alleged road rage incident in Cornwall.
The 20-year-old victim and another motorist were involved in a minor collision on the A30, near Lewannick, when a white BMW and silver-coloured Vauxhall Astra convertible collided.
Following the accident, which took place at 7.30pm on June 2, the pair were said to be involved in an altercation and the victim suffered a stab wound to his chest.
The victim was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth and is believed to be in a stable condition.
The Cornish Guardian reported that the victim's injuries were "not life-threatening or life-changing".
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: "Officers believe the victim and suspect were involved in a minor traffic collision on the A30 involving a white BMW and a silver-coloured Vauxhall Astra convertible before the altercation.
"Following subsequent investigations a 50-year-old man from Tiverton was arrested in Somerset on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in police custody."
Officers are keen to hear from any witnesses who saw either vehicle or the two men in the area to contact them on 101 quoting reference 715 of June 2.
