Jaguar XJRJaguar

Jaguar and Lexus were the most popular marques of 2014, according to the results from the latest What Car?/JD Power survey.

The comprehensive customer satisfaction study, which measures consumer happiness with both their cars and dealerships, awarded a joint first place to the two premium manufacturers, with Jaguar singled out for its luxurious interiors and avant-garde styling.

Jaguar's mid-sized executive saloon, the XF, was also ranked as one of the top 10 cars to own in the UK.

Jeremy Hicks, Jaguar Land Rover UK Managing Director, said: "I am extremely proud of the design, engineering and manufacturing teams at Jaguar, for producing a range of cars that our customers adore. And I am delighted that the Jaguar UK dealer network consistently delivers a service to our customers that means owning a Jaguar is as enjoyable as it is to drive one.

"For Jaguar to be placed at the top of the What Car? / J.D. Power survey results for the third year in a row is a huge honour. With a number of exciting new product launches in our plans, we look forward to bringing the Jaguar ownership experience to a whole range of new customers."

Elsewhere in the honours, the Volkswagen Up city car was awarded the most popular individual model, with owners heaping praise on its efficiency and ease of use. The Volkswagen Golf Plus and Skoda Yeti followed closely behind in second and third place respectively.

The results, which are laid out in full below, were compiled by surveying 15,000 motorists in the first quarter of this year, and only include models that have sold in excess of 4,000 units.
