Humberside Police revealed one of the most epic parking fails we have seen in a long time when the force posted an image of a crumped Fiat 500L to Twitter yesterday.

The official Twitter page of Humberside Police Roads Policing section tweeted the photo yesterday, accompanied by the succinct message: "36 miles on the clock, automatic, 3 gardens destroyed, all done in reverse. No more licence."

We contacted the force to find out more information surrounding the spectacular crash and they said: "Humberside Police were called at 1439hrs on Monday 21 April 2014 reporting a car involved in a collision with a building on Firsby Crescent, Grimsby.

"Officers attended and spoke to the driver of the green coloured Fiat after it had reversed into an external wall causing minor damage to the wall and car.

"No one was injured.

"The 68 year old man voluntarily surrendered his driving license to the police and is no longer going to be driving."

Twitter user Steve Layton responded to the image, saying: "Elderly, it's a shame when this happens, wrong way to find out if you're still ok to drive."

While Sharpy added: "Safer roads = compulsory road tests every 5 years from retirement age."
