Meet the V10 BMW 1 Series
Taking the handsome 1 Series Coupe and slathering it with a 1M-aping body-kit is a good start, but these spanner wielding mentalists have gone a whole lot further than that, somehow managing to shoehorn in the naturally aspirated 500bhp 5.0-litre V10 engine from the previous generation M5.
Yes, it's that delicious proposition of small car, massive engine, and to its creator's credit, it doesn't appear to be the tyre-shredding widow-maker its on-paper recipe suggests.
Unsurprisingly, you can't just put such a big engine into a 1 Series and leave the rest standard. Everything from the axles and suspension to the wheels and brakes have been uprated to cope with the engine's colossal onslaught of power, while lightweight seats and extensive use of carbon fibre keep the car's weight down and evenly balanced.
The result is a car that can comfortably out-drag the standard 1M Coupe, getting from 0-60mph in under four seconds and continuing on to a top speed of 186mph.
Want one? Well, if you've got a spare £70,000 (plus a donor 1 Series) then TJ Fahrzeugdesign can make your dream a reality. If you think that price is a bit steep, check out this bruising BMW in action below.
