San Francisco sees spate of Smart car flipping
Early this week the Californian city witnessed a succession of flipped Smart models, with onlookers blaming the vandalism on a gang of around eight hooded youths.
Police are currently clueless over the attacks, with speculation over the attackers' identities and possible motives continuing.
While it is being argued that it is merely a prank being played by youngsters, the extent of the damage caused to the cars results in their actions being categorised as felony criminal damage.
The trend for Smart car tipping arguably began in Amsterdam in 2009, where a number of the lightweight cars were tipped into canals, resulting in irreparable damage.
