Chicherit crash

French rally driver Guerlain Chicherit has suffered a huge collision while attempting to break the world record for the longest car ramp jump.

Thankfully, the 35-year-old walked away from the crash, which occurred in the ski resort of Tignes in the French Alps on Tuesday.

Hurling his specially adapted Mini off the ramp after a large run-up, Chicherit comes a cropper when his car over-rotates before landing, with the nose hitting the deck with a sickening crunch.

That isn't the end of the ordeal, however, as the Mini bounces back and cartwheels end over end before coming to rest on its side, billowing smoke.

"I have to stay [in] the hospital for the night just for safety. I'm all OK," he wrote on Facebook after the incident.

Seemingly not letting the accident get him down, he went on to quote Winston Churchill: "Success is not final, failure isn't fatal: it's the courage to continue that counts," he wrote.
