Jaguar Land Rover's stand at the Geneva motor show is set to be a fairly fiery affair this year. Not only will the warm Evoque be proudly displayed, also news has just landed that a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 XFR-S Sportbrake will also wow crowds.
This will be the first time Jaguar has lavished the performance treatment on one of its estate models but no expense has been spared. The XFR-S Sportbrake receives Jag's almighty 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that produces 542bhp and 680Nm torque.
Prospective owners can look forward to a 0-60mph sprint in just 4.6 seconds and a highly illegal limited top speed of 186mph.
Set to battle the likes of Mercedes' CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake and Audi's RS6 bruiser, the Jaguar will boast a chassis that has been specially tuned for spirited driving styles and a revised eight-speed transmission with 'Quickshift' functionality that enables optimal acceleration throughout the speed and rev ranges.
Despite the race-ready components, the big estate hasn't lost any of its practicality, sporting an impressive 1675 litres of rear load space when the rear seats are folded flat – 125 litres more than the powerful Merc and just 5 litres less than the aforementioned Audi.
Prices will start at £82,495, making it a direct rival to the Mercedes in terms of price but that sum does buy plenty of kit as standard: 20-inch 'Varuna' forged alloy wheels complete with bespoke tyres, exclusive interior materials such as carbon fibre and leather, plus a number of eye-catching exterior hues.
