The current trend among automotive manufacturers is to have a cute, reliable SUV in the showroom and Citroen looks set to be the latest company to do just that.
Snappily dubbed the Citroen Wild Rubis concept, the curvaceous soft-roader you see before you is set to wow crowds at the Shanghai auto show later this month.
Details on the high-riding SUV are few and far between but we do know the new model is 4.7 metres long, 1.95 metres wide and 1.59 metres high making it a similar size to the Range Rover Evoque, only slightly longer.
The Wild Rubis cruises on attention grabbing 21-inch alloy wheels and takes many styling cues from the equally good-looking Numero 9 concept that was revealed at the Beijing auto show last year.
Autocar has hinted that the Wild Rubis will see the light of day as a China-only model dubbed the DSX7 Hybrid-4. It will also likely showcase a new petrol-electric hybrid drivetrain that could filter down to other Citroen models.
But European fans of the stylish concept need not worry, as demand for chic SUVs remains strong in the UK and the French firm has revealed on numerous occasions that it would like to align its DS brand with the likes of Audi, BMW and Volkswagen.
The Wild Rubis could be just the ticket.
