A NEW motoring programme on the Discovery Channel will push celebrities to the limits in a series of relentless road trips – and will even include a skinny-dipping Tom Hardy.
The brand new series Driven To Extremes will include celebrities such as Batman star Hardy, actor Adrien Brody, ex-Formula One racer Mika Salo and World Superbike champion Neil Hodgson.
Each episode follows a celebrity pair as they tackle the toughest road trips on the planet. The arduous journeys include travelling along Russia's notorious Road of Bones in the depths of freezing winter, to driving through the dense Malaysian jungle in the middle of the monsoon season.
Keeping the car going in the -60C conditions in Russia was British actor Tom Hardy, who played Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. Paired up with Mika Salo, they journey through freezing Siberia.
Tom, 35, said: "I came away saying to myself whatever they ask me to do, I'm not going to say no, I'll just do it and I've done things that I never thought I would.''
These included stripping off and jumping into the icy water – before rolling around in the snow afterwards to dry off.
The celebrity teams drive a Nissan Patrol in the testing conditions, which included the heat of China's 'Desert of Death', and take part in activities such as Siberian wrestling.
In one scene Tom and Mika walk around a market where the air is so cold, the food sits frozen on the stalls.
The show starts on the Discovery Channel on Sunday, March 17.
