Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette racing have collaborated to produce the fastest and most powerful electrically driven motorboat in the world.
The latest Cigarette Racing powerboat uses the same electric motors as the Mercedes SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive. However, the boat uses a massive 12 motors, four more than the SLS, enabling it to produce an eye-watering 1656 Kilowatts and a maximum torque figure of 3,000 Newton metres.
That means the craft can travel at speeds of over 99mph on water.
The technology, performance and design of the 38 foot Cigarette powerboat is based on the electric super sports vehicle made in Affalterbach, Germany.
Both car and boat have been finished in "AMG Electricbeam magno" – the matte chrome paintwork exclusively reserved for the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive.
The powerboat also includes signature Cigarette Racing sports seats that have been matched with various carbon elements in the cockpit.
The dash of the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive can also be found behind the steering wheel: fitted with dials in the exclusive eye-melting yellow paint finish and lashings of AMG logos.
The new technology, which is heavily derived from Formula 1, means Mercedes has set new standards for efficiency, performance and weight in both car and boat design.
It's a significant collaboration for American company Cigarette Racing as the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive is currently the most powerful and fastest electrically driven series production vehicle in US.
