Top Gear helicopter crash caught on camera BBC/YouTube

A Top Gear race between a Corvette ZR1 supercar and an AH1 Cobra helicopter ended in tragedy when the pilot lost control of the aircraft and plummeted to the desert below.

The BBC has released the footage that was being filmed for an episode of Korean Top Gear that shows the harrowing incident in full.

The clip below shows the high-octane drag race that appears to run smoothly but as the helicopter banks away, the pilot loses control and comes crashing down to earth.

The presenter appears shocked as he clambers out of the car and rushes to help.

According to Telegraph.co.uk, despite the crash happening close to the film crew, no one was seriously injured.

A similar stunt was safely completed in the original version of the programme by Jeremy Clarkson in 2008.

"no one was seriously injured...." Yeah; a crash like that and the pilot walked away with a broken prince finger I guess. Load of rubbish to save the series from the public.

God people are idiots on here. Spending licence payers money on top gear?? Top gear is sold to almost every country in the world to view. Its one of the most popular shows in the world.....trust me top gear pays for itself. Carry on watching songs of praise, or antiques roadshow and let the rest of us enjoy watching fun tv.

I happen to relish those children's antics. Enthusiastic, good, clean, GLORIOUSLY non PC fun. Pleased to see that you know the difference in spelling between a noun and a verb as far as licence is concerned. Lot of people don't!
