The legendary Pirelli calendar, known for featuring stunningly beautiful models artistically portrayed with a distinct lack of clothing, is causing a stir with fans today – but not because of explicit content. In fact, for completely the opposite reason.
The notoriously difficult-to-get-hold-of calendar doesn't feature a single nude shot of any of the girls featured.
Photographer Steve McCurry said the focus this year was more "purposeful and idealistic people".
The 2013 calendar features 11 models, actresses and singers including Isabeli Fontana, Karlie Kloss, Petra Newcova, Elisa Sednaoui and Adriana Lima, who was heavily pregnant at the time of the shoot.
This is in stark contrast to this year's full-frontal nudity shots by Mario Sorrenti, who photographed the likes of Lara Stone and Kate Moss wearing nothing but their birthday suits.
However if you're thinking of embracing the change and purchasing the 2013 calendar, you'll need to be very pally with someone at Pirelli. The calendar isn't sold to members of the public and only a select number customers and celebrity VIPs receive one.
