Video: Seat and Skoda tempt with value-for-money hatches
The name was last seen on an MPV, but Seat has released prices for its totally new Toledo mid-sized hatchback.
You'll be able to slip into the new Toledo for just £12,495 when deliveries start December 1, 2012.
For that sum of money you'll be getting the Toledo E 1.2-litre 73bhp petrol. It comes with 15-inch steel wheels, front electric windows and an MP3 stereo with Aux-in.
S models kick in at £14,120 and come with 16-inch alloys, heated door mirrors, air conditioning and Bluetooth, while the top model SE adds climate control, cruise control and leather to the gearkob and steering wheel. Prices top out at £17,840 for the SE 1.6-litre diesel Ecomotive.
Speaking of engines, the Toledo comes in six flavours.
For petrol buyers, there's a 1.2-litre 12v with 73bhp, an 83bhp 1.2-litre TSI with stop/start technology, and a 120bhp 1.4-litre TSI.
The two diesels are both 1.6-litre units with 103bhp – but one has stop/start technology and the other doesn't.
The Toledo's sister car is the Skoda Rapid which starts at £12,900 and rises to £17,850. The Czech car has an identical range of engines and boasts a few styling tweaks over the Spanish Toledo.
