Evoque named Women's Car of the Year
Anyone fearful that sexism is dead in the motor industry will be pleased to hear the Range Rover Evoque has been named World Women's Car of the Year 2012.

Judges said the British car narrowly won the accolade from the BMW 3 Series and the Audi Q3 which finished in second and third places respectively.

The jury is made up of female motoring writers from 12 countries, and has been running since 2009.

The writers judge a car according to the criteria women consider when buying one such as safety; value-for-money; storage space; ease-of-driving; colour and sex appeal.

BMW's 3 Series was juded best family car of the year, the Range Rover Evoque the best luxury car, while the Porsche 911 came top the sports car category and the Honda Civic in the economy car category.
