VW reveals GTI and super-eco BlueMotion Golfs
Filed under: Paris Motor Show

Volkswagen has revealed details of the next Golf BlueMotion and a GTI 'Concept', just hours after the unveiling of the new Mk7 model at the Paris Motor Show.
The BlueMotion, set for a UK launch next summer, improves on the current 'green' Golf's already impressive credentials – it promises 88.3mpg thanks to a range of new weight-saving measures.
At the other end of the spectrum, the GTI 'Concept' - the production version of which will go on sale from summer 2013 - comes with a 2.0-litre petrol engine throwing out 217bhp, or 227bhp with the added performance package.
Fuel economy isn't bad either, achieving 47.1mpg on the combined cycle, and the GTI comes with a new 'variable ratio steering' system that Volkswagen says will make piloting the hot Golf a more thrilling experience.
