Nissan to launch an even hotter Juke Nismo
Nissan is going to launch an even hotter version of the Juke Nismo – the Juke Nismo RS, Autoblog can exclusively reveal.

The Juke Nismo RS will be a "Juke-R lite" – an affordable version of the mad Juke-R.

Making its Paris Motor Show debut, Autoblog believes the Juke Nismo will produce 197bhp and will introduce the Nismo brand to the UK.

But Nissan GB managing director Jim Wright told us that the Juke Nismo will be joined by the hotter Juke Nismo RS possibly as soon as next year.

The Japanese giant wants to add more flair and sporting panache to its UK models, and believes introducing the Nismo name to the UK is the way to achieve this. It's thought Nismo will be positioned like Ford's ST brand while Nismo RS will be like Ford's RS.

The Juke Nismo is expected to arrive in the UK by the end of this year, while the super-hot Juke Nismo RS will debut in the middle of 2013.

Autoblog estimates the Juke Nismo RS will produce around 250bhp and will share styling cues with the muscular Juke-R. In fact, Wright told us the RS will resemble a "Juke R lite".

"The Nismo brand is extremely important to the UK and customers," Wright said. "It's a name which should have been in this country for a long time. The Nismo name presents us with a major opportunity in the UK."

Wright also revealed the Nismo treatment could also be extended to Nissan's best-selling car in the UK. A Qashqai Nismo could be next the car on the agenda, extending the appeal of the tuning brand still further.
