Dacia pulls wraps off budget supermini
The Dacia Sandero, a cut-price supermini that's set to pull the rug from underneath the Fiesta sector's feet with a rumoured sub-£6k price tag, has been unveiled ahead of its public debut in Paris.
The five-door hatchback is the latest new product from Renault's Romanian sub-brand – and comes to the UK early next year for the first time in right-hand drive form.
Dacia claims the all-new Sandero will boast an "unbeatable" combination of equipment, space and price.
Bold claims indeed – but parent company Renault is thought to have worked hard on improving materials, fit and finish to rid the naysayers of any notion that this is a cheap 'n nasty buzzbox.
Hot on the heels of the bargain basement Duster SUV, the new Dacia could be a compelling car choice if the price point really is that low. Renault's cheap and cheerful offshoot has been gaining traction in mainland Europe, where the last Sandero – introduced four years ago – was sold.
We'll give you more details on Dacia's budget Sandero just as soon as they become available.
