Mondeo Man can soon look forward to a new set of wheels – but if he was hoping for a fire-breathing motor under the bonnet, he's in for a shock.
Ford has today revealed the new-look Mondeo and it will be the first time ever it will be available with a 1.0-litre engine!
The tiny turbo-charged engine will help the Mondeo return just 130g/km of CO2 and "class leading" fuel economy.
Ford has also revealed the Mondeo will be available as a four-door saloon, a five-door hatch and as an estate. They'll also be a hybrid version.
Looks-wise, it's been given the same bonnet and grille design as the fresh Fiesta we reported on yesterday.
It's likely to get similar new technology to its sibling too.
"Today's smartest technology offers customers more from less," said Barb Samardzich, vice president of product development for Ford of Europe.
"This is as true of engines as it is of computers and smart phones, and by equipping the all-new Mondeo in Europe with our acclaimed 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine we are delivering cutting-edge technology that delivers a very real and tangible customer benefit."
