Overfinch, the Range Rover tuning specialists have introduced an Evoque at more than twice the price of the standard car.

It must be the period for vastly expensive 4x4s – yesterday we covered the £123K Mercedes G63 AMG, which makes the Overfinch Evoque look almost sensible.

Overfinch is the company which made its name tuning the original Range Rover, fitting a Chevrolet 5.7 litre V8 in place of the standard Rover 3.5 or 3.9 litre unit. Today it is a lot harder to simply drop in a different engine, especially in the small engine bay of the Evoque, so the company concentrates on footballer-spec styling packages.

The Evoque GTS features a bodykit with 22-inch Harrier alloy wheels, finished in diamond-turned gloss black. The interior includes Lotus White full leather interior with front sports offset with a piano black veneer and contrast stitching.

Overfinch Chairman, Kevin Sloane, said: "Our Evoque 2012 GTS is a very striking car and was unveiled in an ultraviolet exterior with a Lotus White leather interior at the Goodwood Festival of Speed to showcase our capabilities and bespoke options offered to clients.

"The sculpted aero styling of the Evoque 2012 GTS and the 22-inch Harrier alloy wheels are tasteful but significant additions that add another dimension and a level of exclusivity to an already outstanding car.

Although Overfinch Range Rovers are very popular with footballers such as Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney, it is a safe bet that David Beckham won't be driving one. His wife has her own model - the Range Rover Evoque Special Edition with Victoria Beckham – and it only costs £79,995.
