Double 'Ring win for Toyota GT86
The new Toyota GT86 has picked up no less than two class wins at the Nurburgring 24hr endurance race. Yippee.
The GAZOO racing team lived up to its full name (GAZOO Racing Masters of the Nurburgring) by racing its GT86 to first place in the SP3 class, completing 129 laps. It finished 46th overall.
ToyotaSwiss Racing's GT86 took top spot in the V3 class, too. That's the 'close to production' class, so the cars are a little slow, relatively speaking. Thus, it finished 78th overall, managing 119 laps.
This year's Nurburgring race also happened to be the first that original GT Academy winner, Lucas Ordonez, competed in, racing in a Nissan GT-R. His team of four finished in 30th place overall, and first in the SP8T class.
Imagine, just a few years ago he was a young lad with a control pad and a dream.
