BMW has an M5 here in the UK. Not only is it here, but it's been playing on Britain's plentiful country roads.

The German firm has been out and about with the new super saloon, recording exactly what the 552bhp car can do.

It turns out it can do rather a lot. Not only can it stay still and look very pretty indeed, but it can deftly fling its back end out if its driver decides to plant his (or her) boot.

The new M5 is powered by a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 and will get to 62mph in 4.4seconds, where legal. That's 0.3 seconds faster than the last generation V10-powered M5.
