Proof was provided at the X Games this weekend, if it were needed, that motorcyclists are missing some chemical in their brain related to the feeling most of us call fear.

Jackson Strong landed the first recorded forward flip in a competition in the final of the Moto X Best Trick this weekend. That is a forward flip – against the natural forces of inertia and involving the insane rider to twist himself to face the ground for an unnerving period of time.

This apparently was not the first ever front flip on a bike, as Jim DeChamp pulled the feat off in 2009, but bear in mind this was in a final of a high-profile competition with many judges, spectators and cameras watching on at the event in Los Angeles.

Needless to say, the successful landing of the trick meant that Jackson claimed the gold medal and the respect of onlookers and peers.
