Dad buys £17,000 numberplate for five-week old son

A Norwich man has paid £17,000 for a personalised numberplate for his five-week old son.

He bought 1 HFH at a recent DVLA auction of personalised numberplates held at the Williams Formula 1 headquarters in Oxfordshire.

The businessman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said 'When I was told 1 HFH was being auctioned I just had to have it. It's a great investment, though to be truthful I don't think it'll ever be sold. I'm just going to keep it for my son, it'll be his on the day he's old enough to have his own car.'
