Rain, rain go away, come again another day – this is what I found myself humming when I arrived at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu for this year's National Mini Cooper Day. Still, the turnout was impressive considering the torrential rain that hung about all day.
For those that did, there were special displays of ex-Works rally cars, 10-years of New MINI and loads of Coopers in the main arena to celebrate the fastest Mini's 50th anniversary.
Many owners decided to shelter from the rain in the excellent motor museum, but the traders still seemed to be doing good business and despite the rain, those competing in the concours were still trying to keep their cars clean.
Legendary faces from the Mini's past that attended the show included Paddy Hopkirk, Mike Cooper, Barry 'Whizzo' Williams and Willy Cave.
