The DS4, the second model in Citroen's premium DS range and one of our "Cars to look forward to", has perhaps surprisingly been voted the "Most Beautiful Car of the Year" by more than 60,000 web users in 62 countries.

I say surprisingly, as whilst the DS4 is distinctive, I can think of other cars launched last year that are perhaps more deserving of this award.

Still, at least the DS4 is far more attractive than the C4 on which it's based. It might share the same neat clamshell bonnet and clever surface detailing, but the DS4 adds extra pizzazz with LED lights and a curvier rear end.

Managing Director of Citroen, Frédéric Banzet accepted the award at the official ceremony of the 26th International Automobile Festival on 27th January. Besides the "Most Beautiful Car of the Year" award, the DS4 also picked another award for the "Most Beautiful Interior".

The DS4 will go on sale in the UK during the second half of 2011 and I look forward to a drive.
