Despite coming into a spot of bother over the wording of their 'Lifetime Warranty' advert, Vauxhall has decided to extend the scheme to cover used cars sold through its Network Q approved programme.
The policy, which covers the powertrain, steering, brakes and electrical systems, will only be offered with cars that are less than 12 months old and have less than 30,000 miles on the clock.
The expansion of the Lifetime Warranty is intended to cover the second owners of Vauxhall's 'nearly new' stock and is limited to 100,000 miles without a time scale.
Customers will be required to take their cars to an approved retailer for an annual inspection to maintain the policy.
While the dealership option likely to cover 80 per cent of Network Q's cars, Vauxhall has not yet decided if the owners of new cars will be able to transfer the warranty should they decide to sell privately.
