Skoda beats Porsche to win What Car? vote

Skoda has been rated as better than Porsche in the 2010 What Car? Reader Awards.
Volkswagen's Czech division was favoured over its newly acquired sports car maker by 30,000 of the magazine's readers.
The parent company didn't do nearly so well – Volkswagen languished third bottom in the awards which are based on owners day-to-day experience of 170 cars currently on sale in the UK.
It was Saab's customers who really made their feelings felt, though. The Swedish brand came dead last.
In contrast Daihatsu owes every one of its two dozen buyers a drink after their impressive loyalty saw the tiny brand beat Alfa Romeo and Hyundai to third place.
As well as patting manufacturers on the back, the What Car? Awards also celebrates individual models. This year the BMW 1 Series Coupe emerged as Best Car Overall, followed by the Land Rover Defender and the Alfa Romeo Mito.
