After two years of painstaking development, Pininfarina has finally handed over its stunning one-off Lancia Stratos to German millionaire, Michael Stoschek.

The car-parts magnate commissioned the Italian manufacturer to build him an updated Stratos after seeing the Fenomenon Stratos prototype designed by Chris Hrabalek in 2005.
Pininfarina used a Ferrari F430 Scuderia as a base, with the Maranello car's aluminium chassis being shortened to suit the Stratos's proportions, while its engine has been tuned to produce usefully more power.

The bodywork is made from carbonfibre to provide an exceptional power-to-weight ratio (no figures have been revealed, but it's thought to be around 80kg lighter than the Ferrari) while the weight distribution is very close to the ideal 50:50.

The Stratos will be revealed to the international press before the end of the month.
