Jason Plato is set to join three-time World Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx in representing Team GB at this year's Race of Champions in Germany.

The star of TV's Fifth Gear added the 2010 British Touring Car Championship to the one he won back in 2001 and is now set to compete in the annual competition that has been running since 1988.

Plato and Priaulx will be up against some stiff competition though – the list of drivers taking part includes some big names from motorsport's recent history. Also flying around the two parallel tracks in the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf will be former F1 champions Michael Schumacher and Alain Prost, seven-time World Rally champ Sebastien Loeb, eight-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen.

There could be another F1 champion taking part as well, as Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel is also set to compete at the event on November 27-28. Depending on how the race in Abu Dhabi goes next weekend, it could be a good way for him to end a successful season, or an annoyance he doesn't need after blowing his chance to claim the ultimate title in motor sport.
